One of my most popular posts to date is this canvas art I did a few years ago.
I always loved this project.
This year I wanted to use the same idea but with a Christmas theme.
So I decided on a great Christmas song and gathered my supplies.
For this project you will need:
– wooden letters and star (I found mine at Michaels)
– wood rectangle scrape (I grabbed one from my garage)
– canvas (got mine for 60% off at Michaels)
– spray adhesive
– spray paint
I first spaced all my letters out on my canvas…
You might notice the “o” in the word “to” is missing.
When I bought my letters,
they were out of white “o” letters so I had to buy a black one.
I decided to give that letter a few coats of white paint separately
before applying it to the canvas.
Once I had the letters exactly where I wanted them,
I used some spray adhesive to secure each letter to the canvas.
I allowed that to dry for about 20 minutes then it was time for the spray paint.
I gave the whole canvas a few coats.
While that was drying I worked on my star.
I wanted to spray paint the star a metallic gold, but I couldn’t find the right color.
So I decided to use some silver glitter scrap paper to cover the yellow.
I think it worked it to be pretty alternative and not to bold.
Just a little bling for the star of the show! 🙂
I had a perfect place reserved for this special sign….
I love looking at each morning and through out my day.
I think I am now officially done decorating for Christmas. Maybe. 🙂
