Last week was Spring break for our family. The weather in Colorado was absolutely perfect. So I decided to take advantage and get the family outdoors for some much-needed quality time. I packed a picnic lunch, gathered up the gang and we drove to a local kids park.
Of course we had to eat first cause this family does like their food. For lunch I packed the traditional picnic lunch: sandwich, chips, and drinks. But for Sebastian I packed something special. Early that day, I had stopped by King Soopers and bought some Tree Top Apple Sauce Pouches in his favorite flavor, Cinnamon! Upon discovering it, he asked if he could eat it first. And of course, I said yes. I love those pouches because they’re easy to open, easy to squeeze and (my favorite part) there’s no mess! Plus he’s getting more wholesome fruit in his diet. What mother doesn’t love that? To me, it’s the perfect way to raise some “good apples”. 😉
While waiting on everyone to finish eating, Britton decided to do a little sun bathing. There’s some squinting going on here cause lets face it…Colorado can be pretty sunny!
Once we finished eating it was time for some playing in the park! We began our fun day of play on the swings. Britton was in love from the very first swing. In fact, he was so relaxed in my arms that he almost drifted off to sleep a few times. 🙂
After a few minutes of swinging, Sebastian was ready to take the fun up a notch! So Chris took him onto big and better things while I stayed on the swings with Britton. As you can see, one of Sebastian’s favorite things is the slide through the hill.
Overall it was an incredibly fun day and it felt sooooo good to soak up that warm outdoor sunshine. All that great time together has me itching for summer break now! 🙂
Unfortunately we’re back to our regular school schedule today. Even though Sebastian can’t eat his lunch in the park this Monday, he can still enjoy a special treat. I decided to surprise him once again by placing a Tree Top Apple Sauce pouch in his school lunch box. Just a little reminder from me to him that more fun-in-the-sun days are in our future!
There are only 32 more school days left. (Ya, I’m totally counting.) Only 32 days until I can once again enjoy more fun time outdoors raising my good apples. 🙂 In effort to bring awareness to “Raising Good Apples”, Tree Top is partnering with the National Gardening Association’s KidsGardening.org to help educate kids on gardening.
