The holidays were extra fine, driving around in a fabulous 2018 Mazda CX9.
Our family had decided early last Fall to spend Christmas at my mother’s home in New Mexico. The trip was planned and we knew it would be a pretty tight ride for us in our current vehicles. Luckily Mazda came calling with a fire red, three row, CX-9 for us to test drive for a week. Perfect timing!
Even though it’s a little dirty from all the snow, I can not get over that red! It’s called soul red crystal metallic and believe me — it definitely speaks to my soul. Everyone in my family commented on the color the very first time they laid eyes on it. None of us have actually owned a red vehicle but this beautiful color is making everyone wish they owned this one!
The whole family really loved the large capacity that the CX-9 also provides. The third row especially came in handy on the night we went looking at Christmas lights. With a simple slide up of the second row, my sister and my oldest son could easily hop in the very back.
The third row is rather spacious considering the overall size of the Mazda CX9.
With the second row having a split seat, we could easily move up Britton in his car seat — he didn’t need much room. This allowed my sister more leg room in the back third row. My mother sat next to Britton and enjoyed a comfy ride too as she played with him making the giggles happen like crazy!
Chris and I had plenty of room in the front bucket seats. Did I mention the CX9 had sand colored leather seats…with seat warmers for everyone?! So nice!
I also love all the safety features the new 2018 CX9 offers. The weather and road conditions in Colorado can change in an instant. That’s why I love how the predictive i-ACTIV AWD® all-wheel drive system monitors everything from outside temperature to throttle input and braking patterns. Using that information, it can adjust the power delivery to help give optimal traction before the wheels can even slip. Even when the weather is perfect and sunny, i-ACTIV AWD helps stabilize and improve the CX-9’s overall road grip by sensing changes in steering effort and traction. You can’t beat that!
Our family has been shopping for a new car and the 2018 Mazda CX9 is right at the top of our list! It’s not only super comfortable to drive it’s also the perfect size for our whole family.
Have you driven a Mazda CX9 lately?
Disclosure: Big, huge, giant THANK YOU to the fine people at Mazda for loaning us this gorgeous 2017 CX9 for our holiday getaway. Of course, as always, opinions expressed are all mine. I really love this SUV and would love to purchase one for my own family!
