How To Easily Make A DIY Eucalyptus Wreath You’ll Love

Add some holiday green to your home with a pretty DIY eucalyptus wreath!

I think it’s safe to say, this year I’ve been obsessed with eucalyptus.  And I’m so excited that this type of green floral is perfect for the Christmas season as well. That’s right, I’m ready decking the halls. I’m so happy that I’m not the only one who loves to start decorating early! Because today I’m honored to join my friend, Krista from the Happy Housie and so many other talented bloggers for a Christmas diy/craft edition of Seasonal Simplicity. My DIY eucalyptus wreath is, of course, super simple. And it’s neutral, elegant green colors make it the perfect decor for your home this holiday season!

This whole DIY eucalyptus wreath project started because of my online shopping habit.  I saw a gorgeous faux mixed eucalyptus wreath that I instantly wanted to buy. I took a look at the price and my heart sank. It was over $200! So then I started wondering if I could make something similar that I would still love. Now that this lovely wreath is hanging in my dining room, I think the answer is an astounding yes! And it only cost me 1/3 of the price of my inspiration. Now that’s a Merry Christmas present to me!

Since this wreath is a mix of different types of eucalyptus, it may look complicated. But I promise you, the steps to making this DIY eucalyptus wreath are as easy as getting liquored on Christmas! 😉

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS DIY EUCALYPTUS WREATH:

Add First Layer of Green Eucalyptus

The first step I took in making the wreath was to cut down the stems of the green eucalyptus. I cut off about 6-7 inches. I wanted enough stem left to work it into the grapevine wreath but not too much excess that would bulk down the look.

Then I inserted one green eucalyptus stem into the front of the grapevine wreath. I wiggled it in far enough to help secure it.

Secure with Floral Wire

After the stem of the eucalyptus was secured in the wreath, I took the floral wire and twisted one end around a grapevine. Then I took the whole bunch of wire and wrapped it gently around the first stem. I only did this a couple of times to help secure it. Evenly spacing out the remaining green eucalyptus, I repeated the steps attaching the stems onto the wreath.

Fill in with Remaining Eucalyptus

Next it was time to fill in the remaining open spaces on the wreath with the eucalyptus and ice eucalyptus. Once again, I cut off much of the extra length of the stems. Then inserted into the grapevine wreath and wrapped with the wire.

Finish with White Berries

The last final touch was adding a few white berries. The look I was going for was just a hint of berries in the wreath. So I cut off little bunches of berries from the stem and then randomly inserted them into the eucalyptus mix.

I added a long flowing ribbon bow and called it done!

Enjoy!

This whole DIY project only took me about 30 minutes to complete. Actually, I think the longest part of this whole project was writing this post and having to respell the word eucalyptus over and over! 😉

My dining room mirror was the perfect place to hang my finished DIY eucalyptus wreath. It adds such a nice festive green look to this side of the room.
