Create a simple makeup bag gift that’s unique and perfect for any woman!
Tis the season for giving some French beauty! If you are looking for an easy but super nice gift for the women in your life, I have a wonderful DIY gift idea! And my gift isn’t the only one I’m sharing today. I’m honored to join my friend, Krista from the Happy Housie and so many other talented bloggers for a Christmas DIY gift idea edition of Seasonal Simplicity. This simple makeup bag gift is not only easy to create, it also can be personalized for anyone on your shopping list this holiday season!
Plus, I have a surprise for you too! I will share more details on that a later. Right now, let’s talk about how to make these makeup bags.
HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS DIY MAKEUP BAG GIFT IDEA
(affiliate links may be included for your convenience)
- makeup bag (similar)
- iron on transfer letters
- iron
- extra goodies like mirror, nail files, dry shampoo, moisturizer, lipstick, etc.
ADD YOUR LETTERS
First, I had to decide on my wording. French has always been one of my favorite languages. So I wanted to use French words that would be inspirational and remind every lady of their beauty. The French word Joli translates to pretty and Beau translates to good looking in English. Plus each of those lovely words would easily fit on the side of the bag. Perfect!
Once the letters were arranged, I ironed the letters on (one-at-a-time) following the enclosed instructions. And that was it. Like the French say….si facile (so easy)!
FILL YOUR BAG
After I finished applying the lettering, I filled the bag with a few travel size goodies. Nail files are always great to have around and pretty lipstick is a must. Dry shampoo, some moisturizer, and a compact mirror were also included. And a $20 gift card to Ulta is always a nice addition to any gift, so I placed one of those in the bag too.

For just running out the door, I can’t beat a good tinted SPF for evening out my skin & ensuring I have sun protection! Can’t forget SPF lip balm either! For setting a full face of makeup, I love & swear by Tatcha Dewy Mist for dry prone skin.
