My Backyard Fence Is Blooming!

Awhile back I was reading one of my favorite blogs, Thrifty Decor Chick, when I saw a picture of some beautiful fence pots! What’s a fence pot you ask??

Well, I will show you the finished project in a bit, but first I want to share the steps I took to make mine.

First, I went to Home Depot and picked up 5 clay pots for a little over a buck each! I also got some painters tape and two different colors of spray paint.

I then covered the top rim of the pots…like this…

I then spray painted two pots a light purple and three pots a beautiful aqua. Love. it.
Next step was installing these special little hooks on to the fence.

They are called Hang-A-Pot and you can buy them HERE. They can hold a pot from 4 to 10 inches! And they are super easy to install…just screw it right into the fence. And viola’….
Finally, here comes the real fun part, planting the flowers! And now, to show you the finished project…

Just so you get the full effect, here’s my fence before the pots…

and here is a picture of the fence all beautified!!

Aren’t the beautiful?! I just love how they add some nice color to a rather drab area. And I love how the purple pots turned out…the bright pink flowers just POP!

I just love a fence in bloom…don’t you?

  1. I’ve seen people fashion there own fastenings with wire looped round the pots but those hooky things you found that are made for the job look easy and sturdy. I love a splash of colour in a plain areas, this looks great.

  2. What a fun way to brighten up your fence! Appreciate you bringing this to Snickerdoodle Sunday- hope to see you again this weekend!

  3. This is such a great idea! I’m going to show this to my husband since he’s the one that’s more into plants and flowers. We currently live in a townhouse, and we have no yard. We have two patio areas, but no grass, so this would work for us.

  4. These potted plants are so pretty! We just moved our garden and expanded it, so we are spending a lot more time outdoors. These pots would make my space more beautiful until the garden starts to grow. I might have to try to add some color to my space. Thanks for sharing. And thank you for linking up to The Creative Exchange!
