These are for you friend! Happy Valentine’s Day! These are for you friend! Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m in New Mexico where it’s snowing right now but at least it’s not as cold as Colorado. Hubby said it’s a -4 right now and going to a -15 tonight! 😱🥶

AD: Give your Valentine a date they'll never forge AD: Give your Valentine a date they'll never forget with my deliciously sweet date bars. They are so easy to make, everyone in the whole family will be feeling the love!

Valentine Date Bars
3 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 tablespoons @trulygrassfed unsalted butter, melted
4 eggs, lightly beaten
4 tablespoons cold water
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon salt
16 ounces pitted dates, chopped
1 cup pecans, grounded powdered sugar (optional)
Preheat the over to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 10x15 jelly roll pan. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder; then set aside. Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat together the sugar and melted butter until combined. (Until it looks crumbly.) Add the eggs, water, vanilla and salt and beat until thoroughly combined, scaping the sides of the bowl if necessary. Reduce the mixer speed to low and gradually add the flour mixture. Then use a rubber spatula to fold in the dates and pecans. Spread the batter in the prepared jelly roll pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool, then cut into squares for a bar shape. Or use heart or xo cookie cutters for an extra special holiday shape. Then dust with powdered sugar if desired. These can be stored in an airtight container for up to one week.
I love to use Truly Grass Fed butter when baking because we can definitely taste the difference in it's higher quality standards! It's always rBST-free and non-GMO.

Be sure to hit "save" or screenshot this recipe to reference later.

Happy almost love day friends! Are you baking any sweets for your sweeties?
